  • While a Landscape Architect at Roy Dufreche & Associates, I collaborated with a team of planners, architects, and landscape architects on the production of a Master Plan for Southeastern Louisiana University.  The team consisted of Roy Dufreche & Associates as consulting Landscape Architects, Holly & Smith Architects of Hammond, and Architects Southwest of Lafayette.

The framework of the Master Plan is intended to support orderly growth with purpose to each detailed improvement during the process. The Master Plan includes the location of new facilities, additions to existing facilities and improvements to the existing conditions on site. It redefines pedestrian and vehicular circulation and attempts, through the use of architectural and landscape elements, to enhance the overall pedestrian experience throughout the campus. The plan is organized as a series of districts. The districts were analyzed on various levels, including layout and building mass, architectural style, circulation and landscape content. Design guidelines were developed that establish the groundwork and outline the elements by which all circulation, buildings, hardscape and landscape work will be defined.

This project was awarded a 2000 Louisiana Chapter American Institute of Architects award as well as a 2001 Louisiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects President's Award of Excellence for outstanding ASLA project of the year.
